Ingredients
  

  • 45 ml 1.5 oz gin
  • 15 ml 0.5 oz Maraschino liqueur
  • 20 ml 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 15 ml 0.5 oz ginger syrup (see notes for homemade version)
  • Ice
  • Optional garnish: thin slice of candied ginger or lemon twist

Instructions
 

Shake:

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine gin, Maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, and ginger syrup. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Strain:

  • Double strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.

Garnish:

  • Top with a candied ginger slice or a twist of lemon for extra zing.

Notes

  • Homemade Ginger Syrup:
    Simmer ½ cup sliced fresh ginger with ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Keeps in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • For extra sparkle, top with a splash of soda water for a "Ginger Aviation Fizz."
