Instructions
Preheat Oven and Prepare Asparagus: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
Wash the asparagus spears and trim the tough ends. If the spears are very thick, you might want to blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes to start the cooking process. Then, drain and pat them dry.
Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle about 3mm thick. Cut the pastry into strips about 2-3 cm wide.
Assemble: If using, spread a thin layer of cream cheese along each strip of puff pastry.
Place an asparagus spear on one end of a pastry strip. Roll the pastry around the asparagus, slightly overlapping the dough as you wrap. Brush the tip of the pastry with a little water to seal the edge if needed.
Place the wrapped spears seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Leave some space between each for even cooking.
